Marie Antoinette was screened at Cannes today, where it was received with a less than enthusiastic reaction. The film was met with catcalls and boos. Pero but why??? I'm dying to see this movie. I'm now super duper excited now that I read Marianne Faithfull was cast as Marie's mother. I love love love Marianne Faithfull. I still haven't bought her last album Before the Poison.
I really have to fucking get it. Hello- it features collaborations with PJ Harvey. Her album Kissin' Time was really good. I love her cover of Carole King's "Something Good." And it has an awesome cover. Speaking of music the Marie Antoinette soundtrack is amazing. It has New Order's Age of Consent and Bow Wow Wow's cover of "I Want Candy," two of my favorite songs. The soundtrack is fucking out of this world. I have a lot of these songs already but still who would have thunk it, to match 18th century royalty with a post punk soundtrack.
