Things To Look Forward To In THE '07

Stuff On My Cultural Radar

1. Courtney Love's new album How Dirty Girls Get Clean (Well now the title has been changed to Nobody's Daughter)

2. Shirley Manson's 1st solo record
(She was supposed to be on the Darfur tribute album will all the John Lennon covers but God know what happenend I guess it was just a rumor. Garbage are releasing a greatest hits & a greatest remixes CD & an accompanying DVD with all their music videos from Version 2.0, beautifulgarbage, & Bleed Like Me , which I've always wanted because they are so good & much better than what MTV airs and their new single & video "Tell Me Where It Hurts" is killer! The video is uber cinematic. It's like watching an obscure old Italian foreign film.)

3. Gwen Stefani's second solo tour
(Been There! Done That! & It was uhmazing - I heart Gwen! I have since I was like 14.

4. A Collaboration between Duran Duran, JT & Timbaland (Well now not only are JT & Timbaland working with Duran Duran but now also with the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna can't wait although I'm mildly disgusted, one thing is for them to work with Duran Duran 80's has-beens who I love but who haven't had a hit since like the early 90's. It's quite another for them to be working with Madonna who I just can't get enough of although her new single with Pharrell called "Hey You" ain't so hot but hello it's a charity single they're not meant to be big hits. They're supposed to be a little sappy, insipid & uninspired. It's no Band-Aid but thank God it's not as disastreous as Little Steven's charity song "Sun City".

5. The failure of the long awaited Guns n' Roses album Chinese Democracy

6. The MisShapes style book & clothing line (maybe it's goin' 2 b w/ H & M & they will be getting help from friend & designer Benjamin Cho) (Well now rumor has it they are going to have their own Sirius Satellite Radio Show, which I think is great especially since those kids have great taste in music, potty mouths & can't be restrained by FM radio, FM programming & the FCC

7. The Scissor Sisters U.S. tour

8. South by Southwest 2007 (been there! done that! had tons of fun saw lots of great bands & met the diry girl herself Ms. Peaches & JD Samson ex-member of LeTigre. If memory serves me well I saw Razorlight, Mika, Spektrum, Todosantos, Lesbians On Ecstasy, The Prototypes & Junior Senior)

9. Kylie Minogue's new book, Live CD & DVD for her current new & improved revamped Showgirl tour, & her new single (Love her new Live CD, now I hear she's coming out with a documentary called White Diamond, which from the preview where she reprises her cover of "Diamonds Are Girl's Best Friend" is super sexy & better than when she performed it in Monroe drag back in the 90's)

10. Sophie Ellis Bextor's new album ( I have tons of songs off of it & they're all really good especially "New York City Lights" I just have to get the album now. Hello Amazon!)

11. A full length lp from Dangerous Muse

12. Perhaps new Goldfrapp music

13. The DVD release of Marie Antoinette & a new & improved DVD release of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet (Bought these suckers fast, now I need Factory Girl)

14. The new season of Extras on HBO (It was great & silly as ever.)

Friday the 13th

so90s

I've been planning a so90s party for awhile now cuz it's so random & I know in my heart of hearts it's never too early for 90s nostalgia. (I'll use that word even though I don't like it) I'm totally getting the playlist ready. Some Deee-lite, some C + C Music Factory, Everything But The Girl
Here a couple of signs that others are on the same wave length
-Sienna Miller rocking Dr. Marten's on the cover of Nylon
-Bob Sinclair sampling "Everybody Dance Now"
-the re-release of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet soundtrack
-Right Said Fred releasing a 2007 version of their hit "I'm Too Sexy"
-Mark Mark considering returning to the recording studio (DON'T DO IT STUPID!)
-Bjork shitfaced singing"NO Limit" in Paris
-Tracey Thorn's new solo album especially her first single "It's All True" Producer Ewan Pearson says he tried to capture early 90s production on the track a la Shep Pettibone.

I love early 90s music production!
So everyone get your No Fear tees, Cavariccis & Girbauds ready cuz y'all are invited!

My Christmas mp3 Wish List

Since Christmas is the time of giving I was hoping you my kind readers would be so kind as to help me locate any of the mp3s on my wish list.

Denim - "I Will Cry at Christmas"
The Fabulous Pop Tarts & Andrea True - "Hot Christmas" (old or new version or Both :)
Kylie Minogue - "Feels So Good" (Demo)
Kylie Minogue - "Chocolate" ft. Ludacris
Sophia Lamar - "Rape Me" (Nirvana cover)
Frankpollis - "No Name"
So Does the Fire - "Adult"
Madonna - "Erotic" (Version included in the cd accompanying her SEX book)

My list is so random it's not even funny but any help would be much appreciated. I'm at my wit's end looking for these songs.

*UPDATE: So I have Denim's "I Will Cry at Christmas" but it's on a really long podcast. I have it on Benjamin Cho's now defunct East Village Radio podcast.
I have a short clip of "Hot Christmas" still need the complete song.
I Have both Kylie's "Feels So Good" & "Chocolate"
I Have Sophia Lamar's cover of "Rape Me"
I have Madonna - "Erotic"

The Names Mr Boogie

Totally random. I found this over at YouTube. What's more obscure than some guy playing acoustic covers of unreleased Kylie Minogue songs. They're really good.
"Lovin' You"
