Superman meets Bela Lugosi

Just in time for Halloween, tonight's episode of Smallville featured Bauhaus' "Bela Lugosi's Dead." The episode was called "Thirst." In the episode Lana joins a sorority (scary!) and she becomes a vampire (not as scary as the sorority) hence "Bela Lugosi's Dead." As she's about to feast on Clark the song comes on and it never sounded better. Yes I realize Bauhaus on a WB show is weird for you purists out there but gimme a break. By the way does anybody remember Goth Talk on Saturday Night Live? It used "Bela..." as its theme song. Goth Talk was a brilliant sendup of the whole goth thing. Chris Kattan and Molly Shannon were two dorky goth kids. I miss Goth Talk they need to bring it back. Bauhaus are currently on tour. Sadly no Texas dates, but they'lll be touring through 2005 into 2006. So dig up your old goth gear and hit one of the shows. They're going to have a Halloween show in San Francisco at the Fillmore.
Hit bauhausmusik.com for tour dates and stuff and stuff.

"White on white translucent black capes
Back on the rack
Bela Lugosi's dead
The bats have left the bell tower
The victims have been bled
Red velvet lines the black box
Bela Lugosi's dead
Undead, undead, undead
The virginal brides file past his tomb
Strewn with time's dead flowers
Bereft in deathly bloom
Alone in a darkened room
The count
Bela Lugosi's dead
Undead, undead, undead..."
